Welcome to SBH
Thanks for stopping by the bear cave and checking it out. Being serious all the time is un-bear-able, so we have added a great comic strip at the bottom of page for your enjoyment. Please feel free to leave your thoughts,or shoot us an e-mail with the link to the right. We'd love to hear from all the creatures in the forest.

"'Tis greatly wise to talk with our past hours; And ask them what report they bore to heaven: And how they might have borne more welcome news."

Interesting quote...didn't know you posted this...and here I am this morning thinking on the very same topic.

It's good to pause and reflect, and to see if the life-course you are on is lining up with true North...in a manner of speaking. What is it that holds us from bearing a better report? Is it selfishness, pride, fear?

To reflect on what is valuable in this world, and to what benefit we use our lives for, in doing right and good by others. To live not in fear, but in boldness that we should answer not that we did little because we feared the unknown, but that we endeavored to do great so that our lives may count in the balance.

Quotes are wonderful to read; they make us ponder, reflect, feel good. However, quotes are only as good as we put them to action...not always an easy thing to do, because this may involve discomfort of self-evaluation, change, risk.

Risk?! Growing up sheltered, with all trying to minimize risk, walk safely on the well-trodden path, follow the formula to success...The world's view of success, or what God put on my heart to be?
Fear, the great immobilizer, fear the great inhibitor of creativity and freedom, fear the champion of the 'what if, someday' speech. There is One who came to loose the chains of fear; and it's been a process of learning to trust Him, and trust those He sent to help, so that the bindings placed by earthly hands are slowly diminishing their hold. Hopefully, in this journey of learning, I have and will in turn help others, with humility and tenderness.

some quotes :)

"To fear is one thing. To let fear grab you by the tail and swing you around is another."
~Katherine Paterson, Jacob Have I Loved
