Welcome to SBH
Thanks for stopping by the bear cave and checking it out. Being serious all the time is un-bear-able, so we have added a great comic strip at the bottom of page for your enjoyment. Please feel free to leave your thoughts,or shoot us an e-mail with the link to the right. We'd love to hear from all the creatures in the forest.

Catch up, some more pics

Catch-up time

wow, it has been several days since I posted, but it feels like only hours ago to me. in the last post "River Rat" and I were still in the north west Washington area. Today we are in Mid- Oregon. We have covered a lot of ground on this trip and by the end of today we will have around 2500 miles under our belts. We had a bad incident occur in Everett, Washington and one of the bikes went down and some injuries resulted. It took us some time to get the wounds attended and the bike put back together. Although the spill put a damper on our emotions, the trip has been wonderful. We are very upset that like all trips, this one too must have an end. We are hoping by this time tomorrow our beat up motorcycles and bodies will be on the truck and headed for home. As always, here are some pics of the last several days.

Floating through a dream

We have come back into the USA after a wonderful time in Canada. I t has become very hards to choose which pic to post as many of the 500+ pics are as good or better as the ones I have posted. This has been a wonderful life experince ans I can see the draw to traveling on a bike. We have met many wonderful and very helpful folks along the way as we "wing" our daily plans. We are getting about 200-250 miles a day in before we become wipped out. Enjoy the pics, more to come.....

Duel, Part 2

Well we have been on the road for 5 days now and our bodies are starting to feel those wonderful aches and pains that reminds us we are no longer young bucks. The last few days have been "different". We had a wonderful visit with my long time friend, Mike Barret and family. They are such a blessing. We left Mike's Lincoln City, Oregon home a little late on Thursday and headed north.

We made it to Aberdeen Washington by night fall and slept on the beach in cold, damp, and foggy weather. Yesterday we came alive and hit the road for real. Leaving Aberdeen early, we headed for Canada, via Port Angeles. Along the way we found some experiences worth a mention here on the blog. 1) The weather was awesome, with sunny skies and open roads we made great time. 2) As we were cruising up the highway, a logging truck had zoomed up behind us, so we rolled the throttles and picked up the pace, the truck from hell pursed. We passed cars and other big trucks and like a possessed demon this logging truck kept coming. After several miles of 80-85 MPH up and down hills, through the twists and turns, and over the bridges. we finally decided to find a spot, any spot where we could get enough ahead of this knucklehead , pull over and let this mad man kill himself. I have never seen a BIG truck fly so fast over a road like this one was doing. 3) the rest of our experiences to share are above in pictures, I hope you enjoy my attempt at photography:

Lighthouses' lions, and lazy days

Another awesome day of exploring Oregon. We found a big cave full of sea lions, cool but STINKY. The search for lighthouses has been a blast as we hit the "twisties" fast and furious.
We will post more in the AM as we are beat from all the fun today

A day in pics

Day one, uggggg

Well, here we go. We left LA @ 6 PM on Monday night and arrived at our first way point, via, truck and trailer at 8:30 am. That is right we drove ALL night. We unloaded the bikes ,a KLR650 and a V-Strom650, did a couple of errands and headed out. The picture on the right is taken at Harris State Park this morning as we cruised the Oregon coast. There is a ton of bikes traveling this area of the country so that has been fun.

At the point we have not slept for something like 30 hours. We did get a few winks in in the truck as the other drove, but not much sleep. Our funny, punchy humor has given way to grumpy, crabby whining. We have stopped to get some coffee, a quick wifi hook up, a Skype call, and a post of the trip. Anyway, catch ya later....TB
